FG Is With Technical Education
With Technical Education. The Minister of Education, Professor Ruqayyatu Alkali Rufa’i has said that the federal Government was committed to prompting Technical Education through ensuring stability, improving motivation and producing quality graduates as well as improvement in the working condition of staff of Nigerian Polytechnics.
Prof. Rufa’i made the statement through her representative, Dr. E. G. Katura, at the 11th Convocation of Waziri Umaru Federal Polytechnic, in Birnin Kebbi yesterday, where a total of 3,332 graduates being combined sets of the 2008/2009, 2009/2010 and 2010/2011 acadamic sessions.
She said the regulatory bodies of NUC ,NBTE, NCCE were now strategically positioned to discharge their mandate of ensuring quality and standards in Nigerian educational institutions.
The Minister also added that the visitation panels to all polytechnics and colleges of Education had submitted their reports With far reaching recommendations to the Federal Government, promising that the federal Government would implement the recommendations.
During the ceremony, the Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okoroch, Alh. Mohammed Kwaido, former Accountant General of Sokoto and Kebbi States as well as Hajiya Salamatu Hussaini, former minister of State for Women Affairs, were all honoured With Fellowship honour by the Waziri Umaru Federal polytechnic.
