Eagles Will Play Two Top Friendlies In August
Technical Committee boss of the Nigeria Football Federation, Chris Green, has told Complete Sports that the Super Eagles Will Play Two friendly games in August as part of their preparation towards the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations and 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers billed to hold in September and October.
Speaking to Complete Sports at the weekend, the legal practitioner said one of the Two friendly games Will be against one of the Top six teams in the world.
“Now, the players are on break, but there is a plan for the team to Play Two quality friendly games in August as part of preparation for the qualifiers which we have in September and October,” begins Green.
“We saw the way we played the last three games, and there is a need for the team to get better before the next round of qualifiers and in doing that, we really need to Play some Top friendly games to prepare the team and we are working towards that. I should also tell you that one of the Two friendly matches Will be against one of the Top six teams in the world.”
Green however said he was happy that the Super Eagles ended the busy month with a 2-0 victory over Rwanda on Sunday, saying it was a tough game for the Nigerian side.
“We have to thank God for that result because it was a difficult match for us; but I believe that there Will be improvement in the team before our next game,” Green said.
The next round of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations Will hold from September, while the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers resumes in September.
