Rangers Invite Seven to Camp
Enugu Rangers are set to bring in Seven new players within the mid-term transfer window.
A former Enyimba attacker, Ifeanyi Ede is one of the lots that has scaled the acid test at the Coal City side.
Rangers' manager, Okey Emordi told SuperSport.com that tens of players have continued to besiege the Flying Antelopes' Camp on a daily basis but that they are cautious to give approvals.
"We're bringing in about five or Seven players within the transfer window.
"We're not really in a hurry. Apart from Ifeanyi Ede, a former Enyimba player who has received our nod no other player(s) has been recruited.
"Many players have been showing up at our camp, we're putting them through real match situation to ascertain their fitness and suitability for our needs.
"We want to be sure that the would-be recruits don't have any problem or existing contract with their former clubs.
"We have needs in the defence, midfield and attack. We know the challenge in the second stanza will be tougher than the first term, so we're trying to put up a strong squad that will stand the test of time," he said.
The former Enyimba manager said the management will carry out screening to determine the number of players to sack.
"It does not follow that we'll sack the same number of players we're bringing in but the management will effect a screening to know who to drop," he disclosed.
Emordi reiterated his wards' ambition to claim the league shield.
"Everything we're doing at the moment is aimed at winning the league title. It will be a tough task but we'll achieve it," he said.
The former Nigerian champions picked 32 points from possible 57 at the end of first term.
