3 NPL Clubs Fight For Ocheayi’s Signature
Clubs are in the race of their lives to grab former Enyimba international of Aba’s goalkeeper, Richard Ocheayi.Nigerian Clubs are in the hunt For the ex-Kaduna United and Enyimba goal tender ahead of the new league season.
Ocheayi acted as a good cover to Aba Millionaires’ first choice, Paul Godwin and he has been one of the talking points of the current season’s transfer with newly promoted Nassarawa United, Akwa United and Lobi Stars on the queue to secure his Signature ahead of the new season.
In a chat, a top source informed that the Benue born goalie was yet to make up his mind but that he is currently studying the bids submitted by the three Clubs before deciding on the one he would commit his immediate future to.
Ocheayi was with Kaduna United before his a season stint with Enyimba and he assisted the club then managed by Maurice Cooreman to win the Federation Cup in 2010 which confirmed their flight in the 2011 CAF Confederations Cup.
The north based club would later go ahead to get to the group stage of the competition in only their maiden appearance thus accounting For the elimination of Foullah Edifice (Chad), Etoile du Sahel (Tunisia) Entente Setif (Algeria) and ASEC Mimosas of Ivory Coast in their debut campaign.
“Richard is being sought by three NPL Clubs and more could still come in to hijack the present three Clubs that have made their intentions known. Being a goalkeeper with continental experience having featured For Kaduna United in the CAF Confederations Cup competition, Clubs want him to add the needed experience to their back-line.
To the best of my knowledge, he has not signed For any of them but he is presently weighing the offers before him before deciding on one,” a source enthused.
