Edo State House of Assembly has issued directives to the Management
of Benin regional office of MTN
to appear in plenary session by 10 am on October 29, 2012 to provide explanations to Parliament why members of the House Standing Committee on Public Utilities and Works who recently embarked on an inspection visit to the Benin office of the telecommunication company were shut out.
Announcing the directive on the floor of parliament during plenary session yesterday, the Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Uyi Igbe said the telecommunication company is among others, expected to explain to the people of Edo State why it publicly disregarded the lawmakers by refusing them access to their premises during the discharge of the oversight function of the committee.
