Volkswagen Gives New Golf Three New Engines, 4Motion and Tech Pack
Golf is a really big deal for Volkswagen, as it is their most important product, by a long shot. The latest car, the MK.7, is bristling with technology and innovations, in order for it to remain the most coveted car in its class.
Now, Volkswagen has made the New Golf even more appealing with several New additions to its range. First off are Three New Engines, which are 1.2-liter TSI BlueMotion with 105 hp, 1.4-liter TSI BlueMotion with 120 hp and a more powerful version of the latter, with 138 hp, featuring both BlueMotion tech, as well as cylinder deactivation. All engines come with a manual six-speed gearbox as standard, while VW’s seven-speed dual-clutch setup is available as an option.
Another addition to the range, and a very important one, we say, is VW’s 4Motion all-wheel drive system, which is now optionally-available on the 1.6-liter TDI, and the 150 hp 2.0-liter TDI unit. It is only offered in conjunction with a six-cog manual gearbox.
The last addition is a ‘tech pack’, which Gives the car active cruise control, bi-xenon headlights, dynamic main beam control, traffic sign detection and anti-theft warning system. It costs €1,690, and it can only be added to higher-spec cars (Comfortline and Highline).
