Land Rover Discovery 4
Land Rover Discovery 4, which has been on the market since 2009, has been “refreshed” for 2013 ––but exactly what form those upgrades will take is up to you, the customer.
Land Rover is offering a range of new optional features, including the Extended Leather Pack –– inspired by the HSE Luxury Limited Edition –– and distinctive new Black Design Packs, available with 19 or 20 inch all-black painted rims and a host of black trim elements and design details such as gloss black grille and fender vents.
The infotainment system has been upgraded with the latest-generation digital audio broadcast radio and a new digital TV tuner, and the navigation system now comes with off-road guidance and 4x4i.
The engine, however, is unchanged, with a choice of two turbodiesels –– the entry-level 155kW, three-litre LR-TDV6 and the 190kW, three-litre LR-SDV6, each driving through a ZF 8HP70 eight-speed automatic transmission –– and the brawny 277kW, five-litre, naturally-aspirated petrol V8, mated to a ZF 6HP28 six-speed auto box.
Extended Leather Pack includes premium soft Windsor leather throughout, with twin-stitch detailing to the top of the dashboard and doors and also around the instrument binnacle.
In response to customer demand for a more luxurious interior, the extended leather pack is being introduced as a new interior option on the 2013 HSE derivative with Windsor leather seats fitted.
It includes premium soft Windsor leather throughout, with twin-stitch detailing to the top of the dashboard and doors and also around the instrument binnacle.
The existing Technology Pack now includes upgraded navigation with 4x4i off-road navigation, “Say What You See” voice activation and parking sensors front and rear.
The HSE Luxury Pack includes xenon adaptive headlights with cornering lights, a Harman Kardon 17-speaker, 825W audio system, Windsor leather, full-length roof rails in satin black, electric steering column adjustment for height and reach, an electric tilt/slide sunroof and a cooler box in the centre console.
The Vision Assist Pack has automatic xenon adaptive adaptive headlights with cornering lights, high beam assist and the surround camera system with approach lights, tow assist and tow hitch assist.
The radio has been upgraded to the latest generation DAB+ and DMB-A broadcast formats and a new digital TV tuner has been introduced across all derivatives, capable of receiving MPEG4 digital streams.
The upgraded Discovery will be released in 2013.
