Subscribers Want GSM Operators To Ensure Response To Queries
Subscribers (NATCOMS) wants telecommunications Operators in the country to Ensure prompt Response to subscribers’ queries.
Chief Deolu Ogunbanjo, the NATCOMS’ president, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday, in Lagos, that customer care centres run by most of the Operators hardly responded to Queries from subscribers.
“Customers find it difficult to contact customer care representatives and when it even goes through, the Response you get is, `All our agents are currently busy, please call later’.
“The GSM Operators should open more customer care units outside urban areas to hasten the resolution of queries,” he said.
Ogunbanjo also urged the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) to prevail on the Operators to improve on their services because of the soaring number of subscribers.
``Now that Subscribers are increasing, there is the need for adequate customer care agents that will attend to customers’ issues promptly.
“Customers cannot enjoy better services from telecommunications Operators if there are inadequate customer care agents that will attend to customers,’’ he remarked.
Ogunbanjo also urged the NCC to monitor all sales promotions which GSM Operators offered.
According to him, the sales promotions “drive more traffic on the network, leading to network congestion”.
He urged the GSM Operators to concentrate on improving the quality of their services instead of running promotions that gave no value for money.
The NATCOMS’ president also urged the NCC to compel the GSM Operators to provide a code for any subscriber who wanted to discontinue such promotion.
"The barrage of promotions and other games of chance engaged mostly by some of the Operators is one of the factors responsible for dropped calls," he said.
